When people visit your site, they are looking for information. And you can run advertisements that are related to the topic of each page. When someone clicks on an ad, you make money. When someone buys something using a link on your site you make a lot of money.
If it sounds easy, you are right.
First, take a look at this web site called Comic Book Universe. Click hereto open another page (don't worry this page will stay here). We will use this site to show you how easy it is to start making money.
Here is a sample of the page. On the right side of the page, in the sand colored box, are all sorts of ads. Each has different money making potential and each has different requirements.
The first one is a link to Amazon. You can prices for new and used copies of that book. If anyone buys, the site owner gets 4% of the sale. A new copy of the book is $10, so the site owner will get 40 cents. Not bad - one click and everything else is profit.
Next you see a text link for Firefox. (here is my little commercial - you should be using this browser because it is better, and follows more of the rules of the internet - Microsoft thinks they are to important and do things their own way. Plus its free and it doesn't replace your current browser. And one last point, you help me when you download it since I get paid - its my break even click.) Ok back to the ways to make money.
That Firefox link is just one of the ways you can make money with a free partnership with Google. Below the Firefox link is a box that says "Ads by Google", with five ads. Everytime someone clicks on an ad you make money. Thats right - someone click and you get paid! There are some rules, like you can not tell people to click on the ads or point to them with any cleaver arrow pictures. We also can not tell you how much money we make or how much you get for each click, but once you sign up with Google, they will tell you. The Google ads will be your "bread and butter" providing income on a regular basis.
The last two ads on the comicbookuniverse page are from a different company. They have thousands of partners with a lot of different payouts. The payouts range from a few cents, to a few dollars, all the way up to $100.
Mailordercomics pays 10% per order recieved through a link on your site. And the Visa card for kids pays you $5 per completed transaction. Notice, anyone using that link says the $5 registration fee as well.
These examples just scrape the surface of all the ways to make money with your own web site. Take a look at the partners page to learn more.
The key is this. Set up a web site about anything, put ads on the page from Google and others, and the people who visit will click and pay you.
You don't need to know how to build a web page - there are point and click tools that will set up a site for you in a few minutes.
